Who runs Stamford Senior Advisor?
Stamford Senior Advisor is a privately run referral and guidance service for older adults and their families in Fairfield County, Connecticut; it has no connection to the Department of Public Health, the Department of Social Services, either Area Agency on Aging or any care provider, and it owns no facilities.
The site is the public half of the work: Connecticut's rules, payment programs and license records laid out so a family can check each claim against the regulation or agency page cited beside it. The private half is a conversation with an advisor, who listens to what your parent needs and suggests licensed places worth seeing.
Who pays Stamford Senior Advisor, and why does that matter to you?
Communities that work with referral services pay us a fee after a family we introduced moves in; families pay nothing, before or after.
Any referral business carries a tilt toward the communities that pay it, and we would rather name it than hide it. The directory lists every active license in the 23 towns whether or not the provider has ever paid anyone, and an advisor will talk through any of them. If a recommendation does not come with reasons you can verify on the state record, ask for them.
What does the directory include, and what does it leave out?
It includes every active assisted living services agency, nursing home, residential care home and home health care agency license DPH shows for the county, with the state's own dates and registry figures, plus CMS ratings and data for certified nursing homes.
It leaves out online reviews, scores of our own invention, aggregator listings and facility advertising. When a number families ask for has never been published, such as an assisted living inspection result or a Fairfield County price median, the page says so.
How can families or providers contact Stamford Senior Advisor?
Call (475) 269-3434, write to advisors@stamfordsenioradvisor.com, or answer the short care-match questions on any page and an advisor will follow up; providers who spot a display error in their state data can use the same address.
For an emergency, call 911. To report possible abuse, neglect or exploitation of someone 60 or older in Connecticut, call Protective Services for the Elderly at 1-888-385-4225.
Which area does Stamford Senior Advisor serve?
All 23 Fairfield County towns, including Stamford, Greenwich, Norwalk, Bridgeport, Danbury, Fairfield, Westport, Darien, New Canaan, Trumbull, Shelton and Stratford.
Westchester County and Putnam County communities across the New York line follow New York's licensing system and records, so they are not in our directory; our guide to the state line explains what changes for a family weighing Port Chester, Rye or Brewster.
