How does Stamford Senior Advisor source its facts?

Every regulatory statement cites the regulation, statute or agency page it comes from; cost figures come from CareScout's 2025 Connecticut release; population figures come from Census Bureau Vintage 2025 estimates and the 2020-2024 American Community Survey; Medicaid and VA figures come from DSS's 2026 standards chart and VA rate tables.

What will Stamford Senior Advisor not publish?

We do not publish figures we cannot trace to a primary source, provider details that are not in state or CMS data, reviews, testimonials, or ratings of our own.

  • No Fairfield County cost median: CareScout's Connecticut release publishes statewide medians only.
  • No memory care median and no list of memory care units: neither is published.
  • No assisted living ratings: neither Connecticut nor CMS rates assisted living, and we will not invent a score.
  • No provider details from marketing copy or operator websites.

How often is the directory updated?

The directory is regenerated from DPH's eLicense exports (retrieved October 31, 2026), the Nursing Facility Registry (reporting year 2025) and CMS's provider data (as of October 1, 2026) whenever the fetch script is rerun, at least quarterly.

Each listing page shows its source and data date. Page dates in our sitemap change only when a page's content changes.

How does Stamford Senior Advisor handle CMS star ratings and state records?

We show CMS's ratings exactly as CMS publishes them, labelled as CMS ratings with the data date, only for nursing homes CMS certifies, and we reproduce DPH's license dates, registry figures and posted orders as DPH publishes them.

Comparisons on facility pages, such as whether a home's staffing or daily rate is above the county median, are simple arithmetic on the published figures, and each states what it is compared against.

How do I request a correction?

Email advisors@stamfordsenioradvisor.com with the page and the correction; providers may request corrections to how their license data is displayed, but the underlying records come from DPH and CMS, so changes to them must be made with those agencies.

We correct errors promptly. Reader corrections about Connecticut rules or benefit amounts are checked against the source first.
